IBPS Clerk exam is
considered tough as compared to IBPS PO EXAM. Clerk exam is for the
clerical post which makes the cut-off and competition high as compared to IBPS
PO exam. Probationary Officer Exam is conducted to appoint officers which has
high difficulty level but low cut-off. The syllabus of both IBPS CLERK and PO is almost same for some sections but all that matters is the
competition and score.
Candidates must study the
entire syllabus or else they will face difficulty in the exam. It is difficult
to say which exam is easy and which one is tough as they are assessed with
different parameters.
Let us discuss the various aspects of both the exams to help us understand the study strategy to be adopted to prepare for the exam.
Here we have written some useful points /tips for all the aspirants so that they themselves can realize what is difficult and what is easier
1. Difficulty level of exam
Clerk exam has basic questions with less calculations and
complexities. Generally, the questions are asked directly and one has to apply
only the concept to get the answer. English section is competitive as there has
been drastic change in the question patterns in the last few years where
questions based on comprehension ability can only be solved with a perfect
knowledge of language. Reasoning section is easy and scoring as there are no
concepts to be applied but the questions based on puzzles and quizzes demand
good aptitude. IBPS PO has complex
questions in almost all the sections as it is designed to choose officers for
the bank who are going to hold a responsible position in the bank.
2. Number of vacancies
Generally, Institute of Banking Personnel Selection Clerk exam provides fewer vacancies than IBPS PO exam. Clerical posts are
allotted state-wise where as Probationary Officer Posts are allotted on All India
basis. It is easy to manage state wise competition where as all India level
competition becomes tougher where contestants are more in number as compared to CLERK.
3. Cut-off
PO exam has low cut-off as compared to IBPS CLERK exam as the level of questions is high for PO
exam. Low cut-off provides you a chance to be PO if your preparation is
thorough and complete. Difficult questions should be practiced more while
preparing for IBPS PO EXAM if you really want to cross cut-off level. Nothing
is impossible in this world. Be aware of the previous year cut-off marks and
prepare accordingly to hit the target.
Clerk exam has high cut-off because the questions asked are simple and
direct. Most of the candidates score well and thus it increases the cut-off
level.
After analyzing the basic
elements of the exam, one cannot exactly conclude that which exam is tough.
Difficulty of PO exam is high but has low cut-off which makes it easy to crack
for those who have studied well and practiced accuracy and time management
while preparing for the exam.
Sectional timings have
been introduced in IBPS CLERK and PO exam which makes both the exams
challenging and competitive. Master time management skills by monitoring the
speed of solving the questions while attempting mock tests. Do not work only on
one subject or else you will miss the opportunity because one has to clear the
sectional cut-off also to reach to the next level of the exam.
Practice mock IBPS PO tests, speed tests and topic tests regularly by
joining online test series of any of the reputed educational brand. Without
practice, one cannot make any progress and reap the fruits. Candidates should
work hard and smart to get the dream job of your lifetime.
It is advisable to
prepare well for both the exams and maintain practice by taking regular mock
tests based on the latest exam pattern and syllabus.
