significant competitive exams to grab a job in any of the reputed Government
department or organization. Due to ever-increasing competition and rise in the
number of aspirants, the candidates often commit some silly mistakes which
should be avoided. It is experienced that even one small silly mistake can cost
you a golden opportunity of becoming a Government employee, as SSC CGL exam is
career oriented exam. If we overcome these mistakes then it would be easier for
us to crack SSC CGL exam.
In this blog, we will primarily discuss the common mistakes which students commits and measures to overcome them for success in the exam.
1. The biggest silly mistake which
many students commit is not downloading the hall ticket in time. It can be an
act of negligence or failure of server at many places which delays this
process. There are few students who don’t take this seriously and keep it for
the last moment and this is not a responsible act. The students should note
that hall ticket is the most important document to appear in the exam on the
examination day.
2. Undoubtedly speaking,
Quantitative Aptitude Section is the most difficult and challenging section and
so many students devote too much time to this section. It’s not a good strategy
as you have to prepare other sections too. You are supposed to prepare a
time-table where topics of each section should be studied on daily basis. If
you are weak in Mathematics then it is advisable to consult subject-expert or
join online coaching classes(IBPS or SSC CGL) or download Android App for a better understanding
of the subject.
3. In accordance to Mathematics, it
is advisable to learn shortcuts, formulas and shortcuts to solve complicated
calculations and complex questions. But, without understanding the basics, it
is baseless to learn shortcuts, as asked questions demands good command over
concepts of every topic. So, it is highly advisable to learn concepts properly
so that you can solve questions efficiently and quickly.
4. For preparing General Knowledge,
which had vast syllabus, students often refer too many books and this confuses
them. It is advisable to stick to one standard textbook which have updated and
comprehensive information about people, places, events, dates etc. Every GK
book has same set of knowledge but is written and expressed in different way.
So, it can be confusing to many students and can spoil the momentum of your learning
process.
5. For concise study material,
students are supposed to join any of the online coaching classes or download
Android App from any of the reputed educational institutes. It is because the
study material comes in well-compiled E-learning modules which comprises of
E-books, prepared by set of experienced faculty members of the institute. The
most promising aspect is that it is interactive mode of learning where students
can learn from Video Classes also.
6. Time Management Skills should be
groomed to perfection as speed and accuracy are two aspects which can help you
in qualifying this exam. After completing the syllabus, it is advisable that
practice tests, test series and mock tests should be attempted by setting a
time-limit.
If you are practicing it without setting time limit then you won’t
understand the importance of speed of answering. In examination hall, you are
supposed to solve 100 questions in 1 hour and this implies that you won’t get
even one minute to solve one question. So, work hard on speed of answering the
question.
7. In examination hall, students
often get panicked at the sight of complex question and this lowers their
confidence level. Do begin with easiest of questions and try to solve it
accurately and then move towards difficult questions. You should always avoid
guess-work in the exam as this will lead to negative marking that can spoil
your selection prospects.
